Counselling for Children & Young People in Huddersfield

Sometimes children need someone outside of the family to talk to.

Growing up can bring many challenges. Anxiety, friendship difficulties, family changes, bereavement, school pressures or low confidence can sometimes leave a child or young person struggling with feelings they don’t fully understand or know how to express.

I offer a warm, safe and non judgmental space where school age children and young people can talk openly, explore how they are feeling and feel heard without pressure.

How counselling can help

I can support children and young people experiencing anxiety and worries, low self esteem and confidence, loss and bereavement, friendship or relationship difficulties, family changes and separation, school related stress, difficult life experiences and emotional wellbeing concerns.

My approach is person centred and tailored to the individual young person. Counselling isn’t about telling them what to do. It’s about helping them understand their feelings, recognise their strengths and develop healthier ways of coping.

Experience you can trust

I am a qualified counsellor and BACP member with additional training in child counselling and experience of providing therapeutic support to children and young people, including children experiencing bereavement and serious illness.

Taking the first step

I understand that choosing a counsellor for your child is an important decision. I therefore welcome an initial conversation with a parent or carer so that you can tell me a little about what is happening and we can consider whether I am the right person to support your child.

Before counselling begins, I will speak with a parent or carer to understand what support your child may need and to make sure I am the right counsellor for them.

Face to face counselling is available from my private studio in Huddersfield.

£50 per 45 minute session
